How to protect PDF files in Office applications for Windows:

  1. In an Office application, click the Create PDF button in the Acrobat task ribbon.

  2. Type a file name and select Restrict Editing.

  3. In the resulting Security dialog box, set up a password and permissions as desired.

  4. Click OK, and then click Save.
